Greetings!

If you’ve somehow managed to find your way to this blog, there are a couple of things you should know:

  1. This is no longer an active blog. All of my posts have been, well, posted. So what you see here, is all there will ever be
  2. Unfortunately tumblr isn’t very good with allowing users to post past things in chronological order, so as you scroll down the page, you’re actually viewing things from the end of my trip to the beginning of it all

Aside from that, feel free to peruse around.

Cheers!

There’s nothing quite like (a) being home, and (b) being reunited with family and friends!

After a 16 hour flight, I found myself in the Hong Kong airport with about 5 hours to kill. Yes, 5 hours. I figured that I’d make the most of my time by going through work emails. I was able to get through most of it in an hour, so I spent the rest of my time exploring the airport, and of course, picking things up along the way

Yes, I’m a collector of Starbucks mugs. I obviously got myself Thailand/Bangkok mugs, but I also figured that I may as well pick these ones up too. A 5 hour layover justifies having visited a city/country, no?

Toblerone bars found at HKG. I bought one of each for Vanessa as she was willing to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival

While waiting at the airport, I realized that I never really got myself a souvenir during the 2+ weeks that I’ve been here! Enter, Jim Thompson. I got myself a couple of pillowcases at his BKK shop. I elected not to splurge on the silk ones, even though that would’ve been the more ‘authentic’ souvenir purchase. Knowing me, I’d just ruin them anyways

Dear TrueMove SIM card,
You’ve served my fellow travelers and I well during our time in Thailand. Consider yourself off duty now :)

Day Seventeen

With only a few hours of sleep, I was ready for one last drive to BKK. This would be the end of the road for me, but Thailand was everything I had hoped it would be… and more!

To all of the people I’ve had the opportunity to connect with during my time in the land of smiles, khob khun ka!

Back At One

Shortly after claiming our bags in Bangkok, we all headed off into different directions - Cass left for her departing gate, Russell and Bev made their way to their airport hotel, Brandon, Katie and Sek were heading to the mall, and I was hotel-bound in the city. This would officially be the end of the group tour.

I spent the rest of my day getting things together for my trip home. A couple of days prior, I received notification that my flight time had changed. Boo-urns! This effectively meant that my last ‘leisure’ day in Bangkok would be one of preparation instead of last minute exploration. I spent a good amount of time getting myself organized and ensuring I had everything in order for my return.

Alas, Thailand, it’s time to bid you adieu
